DAILY COGNISANCE: Nurtured in the Word – 2Timothy 3:16-17.

DAILY COGNISANCE:

Nurtured in the Word –

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Timothy 3:16-17.

Setting: A cozy living room of a family home where a mother and her teenage son are having an important conversation.

Characters:
Mom: A wise and nurturing figure.
Jake: A curious and at times distracted teenager.

(Scene opens with Mom sitting on the couch, flipping through a Bible. Jake enters, with headphones around his neck.)

Jake: (casually) Hey, Mom! What are you up to?

Mom: (puts the Bible down) Just reflecting on a verse I came across.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Jake: (raising an eyebrow) Sounds great, but how does it affect me?

Mom: (smiling gently) It’s about nurturing, Jake. Just like how you’ve grown in sports because of practice, your spirit needs the same care through God’s Word.

Jake: (interested) So, just reading the Bible can help me?

Mom: (nodding) Absolutely. Allowing God’s teachings to shape you gives you a solid footing. It molds your character to reflect His nature, guiding your decisions and actions.

Jake: (thoughtful) But what if I don’t always understand it?

Mom: (reassuringly) That’s okay! It’s a journey. God’s Word is living and breathing; it reveals itself gradually. It’s about building a relationship—just like any other growing bond.

Jake: (smiling) So, you’re saying if I let it nurture me, I’ll end up a better version of myself?

Mom: Yes! Not just better, but aligned with God’s standard for living. It takes practice, but that’s the beauty—we grow together.

(Jake picks up the Bible, and as he opens it, Mom smiles, realizing the seed of curiosity has been planted.
