DAILY COGNISANCE:
The Unopened Scroll –
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (KJV).
Scene: A small kitchen at dawn. SAM holds a closed Bible, distracted by his phone. MARIA, older sister, pours coffee and watches him.
MARIA: You’ve had that Bible beside you for months, Sam. Why does it stay closed?
SAM: I’m busy. I mean, I read devotionals sometimes. Isn’t that enough?
MARIA: Joshua didn’t say “read a quote.” He said the book shall not depart from your mouth — meditate day and night. That shapes how you live.
SAM (softening): I want to believe it matters, but life pulls me every way.
MARIA: Then let the Word pull you first. When you keep it close, it becomes the lens for every choice — speech, work, family. That’s the promise: prosperity and success in God’s way.
SAM (opens the Bible, fingers on a verse): I’ll start today. Not just reading, but letting it speak through me.
MARIA (smiling): Small steps, steady meditation. Keep the Word always — let it form you.
Conclusion:
Narrator (Voiceover): Let Joshua 1:8 be your daily rhythm — meditate, obey, and walk in God’s way.
