God’s Presence in the Journey
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Drama Message
”Setting: A small living room with a couch, a coffee table, and some family pictures on the wall. The atmosphere is cozy yet reflective.
Characters:
1.Anna: A young woman in her late 20s, facing a difficult decision about her future.
2.Sarah: Anna’s supportive friend, confident in her faith.
[Scene 1: ANNA is pacing the room, looking anxious. SARAH is sitting on the couch, observing.]
Anna: (sighing deeply) Sarah, I feel so lost. I have so many choices ahead of me—should I accept this job offer in a new city? Should I go back to school? What if I make the wrong decision?
Sarah: (smiling gently) I get it, Anna. Life can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to big choices. But you know what? You’re not alone in this.
Anna: (pausing) What do you mean?
Sarah: (leans forward) Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us that “the Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” God is with you in this journey.
[Scene 2: ANNA sits down beside SARAH, curious but still apprehensive.]
Anna: But how can I know that God is really with me? I can’t see Him!
Sarah: (gently) That’s true. We can’t see Him, but we can feel His presence. Think of it like a trusted friendship. You don’t always see your friends, but you know they’re there for you. God is just like that!
Anna: (nodding slowly) I guess that makes sense.Sarah: (enthusiastic) Plus, remember the times He’s come through for you before? When you were worried about getting into college, or when you didn’t know how to handle that crisis with your family? He was there.
[Scene 3: ANNA reflects, the worry on her face softening a bit.]
Anna: (smiling) Yeah, I remember praying about those things. And somehow, everything worked out.
Sarah: Exactly! The journey may be confusing, but God is the ultimate guide. He’s not just pushing you to figure it out alone; He’s walking right beside you. You have His strength when you’re feeling weak.
Anna: (taking a deep breath) So, I just need to trust Him more?
Sarah: (nods) Yes! Trust that He’s leading you, and don’t be afraid to take those steps. Remember, “do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
[Scene 4: ANNA stands up, her demeanor more confident.]
Anna: (smiling) You’re right! It’s time for me to face this journey. No matter how many twists and turns it brings, I know I’m not alone.
Sarah: (standing beside her) Let’s pray together before you make any decisions. Ask God for wisdom and clarity, knowing He goes before you.
[Scene 5: They bow their heads in prayer.]
Anna: (voice sincere) Lord, thank You for Your guidance. Help me trust that You are with me every step of the way.
Sarah: (ending prayer) And remind Anna that with You, she has nothing to fear. Amen.
[As they finish praying, the lights dim, leaving a warm glow. The stage backdrop transitions to a serene landscape, symbolizing the journey ahead.]
