Living Out the Great Commission: Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Setting: A cozy neighborhood café where a community Bible study group meets regularly. Soft music plays in the background as friends gather around a table for coffee and discussion.
Characters:
1.Tari: A school teacher in her late 20s, passionate about her faith but hesitant to share it outside her circle.
2.Kwame: Tari’s mentor and a community leader, encouraging others to embrace their calling.
[Scene 1: TARI sits at the table, flipping through her Bible, looking contemplative. KWAME joins her with a warm smile.]
Kwame: (noticing her) Tari, what’s on your mind? You seem a bit preoccupied.
Tari: (sighing) I’ve been thinking about what Pastor said during worship. He emphasized the importance of going out and evangelizing, but I don’t know if I’m ready for that.
[Scene 2: KWAME takes a seat and leans in, listening thoughtfully.]
Kwame: (encouragingly) It’s a big call for sure, but God equips us for this. Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us to make disciples. It’s about being willing to share your experiences, not feeling perfect or polished.
Tari: (nervously) But what if I mess up or can’t answer their questions?
[Scene 3: KWAME smiles, warmly reassuring her.]
Kwame: (gently) The power is not in the perfection of the message but in your heart and sincerity. Just share your story of faith. God will use it in ways you can’t imagine.
[Scene 4: TARI looks thoughtful, her uncertainty slowly shifting toward determination.]
Tari: (considering) So, I just need to start with my own experiences?
Kwame: (nodding) Exactly! Think of the friends in your life, your students at school, or even your neighbors. Share the joy and hope you’ve found in Christ!
[Scene 5: TARI starts to smile as she envisions herself sharing her story.]
Tari: (enthusiastically) You’re right! I can invite my students to our church events. They love our discussions, and it would be a perfect platform to share.
Kwame: (supportively) That’s the spirit! The more you embrace the Great Commission, the easier it gets.
[Scene 6: TARI looks determined, flipping her Bible closed with a newfound sense of purpose.]
Tari: (confidently) I’m ready! I’ll start with small steps and trust God to guide me.
[Scene 7: As they finish their coffee, the scene shifts to show TARI speaking with her students, filled with energy and excitement.]
